Lead Agile requirements work as product owner for Discovery Insu
Discovery Insure is looking for a Senior Business Analyst in Sandton to act as product owner between the business and its systems teams. The role turns features into well-defined user stories, leads requirements work and offers team-leader support to other business analysts.
Key responsibilities:
– Break features into clear user stories, and run requirements-gathering and story-mapping workshops.
– Manage, refine and prioritise the product backlog, and take part in all Agile ceremonies with the Scrum team.
– Do feasibility analysis, impact analysis and specialist evaluations with limited supervision.
– Quality-assure business analysis work to make sure it is correct and complete.
– Reduce developer rework by communicating specifications clearly, and support teams during development.
– Map changes to existing process diagrams, or create new ones as needed.
– Design and validate functional solutions as Agile epics and stories, and get stakeholder sign-off.
– Keep Jira and Confluence up to date, and join JAD sessions, backlog grooming and stand-ups.
Requirements:
– Matric, a degree or diploma in IT, and a business analyst course (all essential).
– 5 years’ business analyst experience (essential); 1 year in insurance is an advantage.
– 4 years each of UML, screen prototyping, and test and defect management tools (essential).
– Advanced analytical, communication, relationship-building and test management skills.
