Building Manager

Redefine Properties, one of South Africa’s largest REITs, is looking for a permanent Building Manager for its commercial portfolio in Sandton (business unit 115 West and 2 Pybus). You will support property and building managers in planning and monitoring everything to do with running the buildings, keep quality standards high and look after tenant relationships.

Key responsibilities:

• Build and maintain good working relationships with tenants
• Take charge of emergencies and make sure reliable back-up is in place
• Manage outsourced service-provider teams, including specialist services
• Carry out regular building inspections and run a planned maintenance schedule
• Handle maintenance procurement, scheduled installations and ad hoc repairs safely and on time
• Look after all critical building equipment and keep accurate inspection and maintenance records
• Manage budgets responsibly and keep the environment safe, clean and attractive

Requirements:

• Grade 12 (essential); a relevant technical or trade certificate is desirable
• 6 years’ building management, technical or similar experience
• Green building management experience
• Working knowledge of OHSA, general building maintenance and procurement processes
• Computer literacy, good numeracy, time management and people-management skills
