Senior Platform Engineer

Momentum Corporate (Momentum Group) is hiring a Senior Platform Engineer to design, build, automate, run and keep improving the shared engineering platforms used by its delivery teams. The role turns platform architecture into secure, reliable, self-service capabilities, combining platform engineering, cloud, DevOps, SRE and automation. The advert lists Centurion, Sandton or Bellville as locations, with remote work some of the time.

Key responsibilities:

– Build and operate reusable platform capabilities, templates and modules

– Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration and deployment with Infrastructure as Code and GitOps

– Build developer self-service capabilities, golden paths and service catalogue integrations

– Maintain standard CI/CD pipelines with automated testing, security scanning and policy controls

– Engineer and operate cloud, container and Kubernetes platforms, including networking, identity and access

– Build in observability, define service-level indicators and take part in incident response and root-cause analysis

– Mentor platform engineers and contribute to the platform roadmap and engineering standards

Requirements:

– Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or a related field

– 10+ years’ experience in software, cloud or platform engineering

– 3+ years in a senior platform engineer role

– Experience building and operating enterprise-scale cloud platforms

– Experience defining platform standards and engineering guardrails
