IM Enterprise Architect Infrastructure

Valterra Platinum (formerly Anglo American Platinum) is hiring an IM Enterprise Architect – Infrastructure at its Melrose head office in Johannesburg. You will define and govern the company’s technology infrastructure architecture across cloud, networking, service management and automation, so that it is scalable, secure and cost-efficient for a mining business. This is a permanent Band 6 role.

Key responsibilities:

Develop and maintain the infrastructure architecture framework, cloud strategy and roadmap in line with business priorities and regulations
Position enterprise architecture as an internal consultancy and set standards, reference patterns, principles and guardrails
Evaluate and recommend infrastructure technologies, and define cloud migration, hybrid and SaaS strategies
Analyse infrastructure costs and find savings
Make sure infrastructure solutions meet cybersecurity, privacy and regulatory requirements
Work with the CIO, IM portfolio, security and business teams on modernisation and change management
Give technical guidance to infrastructure delivery teams and track emerging technologies
Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, engineering, systems analysis or a related field (master’s desirable)
Enterprise architecture framework certification; cloud architecture, ITSM or security certifications desirable
5-7 years’ experience in infrastructure or cloud architecture or digital transformation, including leading cloud migrations
Experience managing vendors and system integrators, and with security, privacy, business continuity and disaster recovery requirements
Expertise in cloud, virtualisation, API management, integration, DevOps and CI/CD; mining industry experience preferred
Valid EB/Code 08 driver’s licence and a medical certificate of fitness
