Optimi’s growing online school (Impaq, Schooling division) is hiring experienced, permanent educators to teach Grade 4-7 learners online. The role is fully remote. Subject vacancies are Social Sciences & Life Orientation, Natural Sciences & Technology, Mathematics, Afrikaans Huistaal/Eerste Addisionele Taal, and English Home Language/First Additional Language.
Key responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging, interactive online lessons aligned with CAPS
- Monitor learner progress and step in with support where needed
- Run extra classes, masterclasses and virtual sessions with learners and guardians
- Mark and moderate assessments and SBA work, analyse results and give constructive feedback
- Handle daily admin such as attendance, marks and parent communication
- Take part in staff meetings, curriculum planning and continuous professional development
Requirements:
- BEd degree or PGCE in a related field
- SACE registration
- 5+ years’ teaching experience (the advert asks for at least 3 years of Grade 12 teaching for FET positions only)
- Strong subject knowledge and sound teaching and assessment skills; online teaching experience is an advantage
- Computer literacy (MS Office, Google Chrome) and fluency in Afrikaans and English
