Lead complex AWS cloud delivery for South African customers
Amazon Web Services (AWS) Professional Services (ProServe) is hiring a Senior Engagement Manager in Cape Town to lead delivery of complex cloud solution projects for customers. The role combines technical credibility with strong programme leadership. It connects business requirements to AWS solutions using frameworks such as Well-Architected and the Cloud Adoption Framework.
Key responsibilities:
– Lead and manage complex cloud migration and implementation projects from planning to completion.
– Turn customer needs into clear technical requirements, and make trade-offs between performance, scalability, security and business impact.
– Proactively manage risks, issues and escalations, and keep solutions aligned to customer outcomes.
– Coordinate customer teams, AWS specialists and AWS Partner Network partners.
– Earn and maintain AWS certifications, build domain expertise, and set best practices as projects grow in complexity.
Basic qualifications:
– 5+ years of cloud computing experience.
– 5+ years leading multiple Agile teams concurrently or at scale.
– 5+ years leading and delivering enterprise-level IT engagements.
– Knowledge of public cloud value and IaaS/PaaS/SaaS delivery.
Preferred:
– Professional services delivery experience.
– A project management certification (PRINCE2, PMI-ACP, CSM, APM) and AWS certification.
– Experience with tools such as Jira, and presenting to C-level executives.
