What you’ll do:

– Contribute to open-source products and commercial business systems in languages such as Python, Go, Rust, C/C++, JavaScript and Bash.

– Work on areas such as packaging, compilers and toolchains, security and cryptography, performance or documentation.

– Collaborate with the open-source community and get coaching and pair programming with colleagues in your time zone.

– Attend twice-yearly in-person engineering sprints in cities around the world.

What Canonical looks for:

– A recent or upcoming degree (2025/2026 graduates), with consistently outstanding results at school and university.

– Genuine passion for open source and Linux, and evidence of curiosity and initiative in software.

– Strong communication skills and the drive to do full-time, intense, productive work in a remote team.

The process is highly competitive. Canonical matches successful applicants to teams and projects that fit their skills and interests. Closing date: not specified; this is an ongoing graduate intake.
