Artisan Assistant B1

PPC is hiring a safety-minded Artisan Assistant (B1) for the Engineering department at its Dwaalboom cement plant in Limpopo. This permanent role supports boilermaker artisans with maintenance, repair, installation and operational work: preparing tools and materials, keeping the work area clean and safe, and making sure jobs are done efficiently and to company standards.

Key responsibilities:

Assist with mechanical and electrical maintenance, diagnostics, repairs and installations on planned and unplanned work orders
Prepare tools and materials and keep high housekeeping standards
Give feedback to the technician, electrician or foreman on completed work to improve future planning
Follow operational best practices, book time accurately and complete daily tool and area checklists
Take part in departmental meetings and report incidents, accidents and risks
Comply with SHE, legal, QMS and regulatory requirements and help minimise environmental non-conformances
Work professionally with external contractors and service providers
Requirements:

Matric certificate
Boilermaker trade test certificate (advantageous)
Valid driver’s licence
Exposure to EMS, QMS and On Key systems
2 years’ experience in a related engineering field
