Senior Quality Assurance Technologist (Spartan)

RCL Foods’ Baking division is looking for a permanent Senior Quality Assurance Technologist at its Spartan site in Kempton Park, reporting to the QA and Food Safety Manager. You will keep products consistently safe, high-quality and compliant through strong QA systems, technical oversight and continuous improvement, and you will mentor QA staff.

Key responsibilities:

Oversee microbiological sample testing, support allergen control and keep hygiene and sanitation legally compliant
Monitor product conformance to specifications, run BOM tests and update customer specifications and work aids
Develop and implement QA systems with the SHEQ team in line with ISO and company standards, and keep SOPs current
Train production staff on QA systems, lead internal audits and prepare for external audits
Investigate and respond to customer complaints, and compile exception reports and QA statistics
Lead QA meetings, drive action plans, and manage staff relations and performance appraisals
Requirements:

3-year qualification in food technology, food science, biotechnology or equivalent
At least 5 years’ FMCG food processing experience, or at least 3 years in quality management in baking
At least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role
Knowledge of QA systems and TQM
