Maintenance Foreman x2 (6-month fixed term contract)

RCL Foods, maker of brands such as Yum Yum, Nola and Ouma, is hiring two Maintenance Foremen for its Groceries division in Randfontein on a 6-month fixed-term contract. You will supervise site-wide preventive and breakdown maintenance, carry out GMR 2.7 duties under the OHS Act, and improve plant availability.

Key responsibilities:

Take responsibility for maintenance on all site equipment as the GMR 2.7 appointee, including statutory inspections
Make sure machinery is maintained and operated safely in line with the OHS Act, and report and fix defective equipment
Give technical support during breakdowns, improve MTTR and artisan utilisation, and strengthen preventive maintenance schedules
Manage artisans and apprentices, including leave, attendance, development plans and discipline
Ensure FSSC 22000 and ISO 45001 compliance and keep 5S standards in workshops
Manage contractors against SLAs and keep critical spares on site
Lead maintenance shutdowns and take capex projects from start to finish
Requirements:

Trade-tested millwright, electrician or fitter with an N4 mechanical or electrical certificate and Grade 12 (NQF 4) or N(C)V Level 4, or
Trade-tested millwright with a National N6 certificate (NQF 5)
Competent with precision instruments such as multimeters, insulation testers, micrometers, vernier callipers and torque wrenches
