Software Engineer: Full Stack

Capitec is hiring a Full Stack Software Engineer in Sandton to help build an in-house credit applications capability for loan origination, risk assessment and automated fulfilment. The ecosystem is domain-driven and integrates into Capitec’s loan management systems. The successful candidate will grow with the product as the tech stack matures.

Tech stack:

– Front end: Vue.js with micro front-ends

– Back end: Java services (Java is a firm requirement)

– Postgres SQL database

– Kubernetes containerisation

– Event-driven architecture with Kafka; RESTful APIs via gateway

– Cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure

Requirements:

– Minimum 3 years’ Java development experience

– 3+ years’ proven front-end and back-end software development, delivery and implementation experience

– Strong SDLC, algorithms, data structures, design patterns, debugging and Git/GitHub skills

– Experience with microservices, Kafka, Vue.js micro front-ends, Kubernetes and query optimisation

– Grade 12 minimum; a relevant tertiary IT qualification is preferred

– Clear criminal and credit record
